Crafted with Crafters in Mind
Our Dew Drops
Manufactured in the United States, Dew Drops are a treasured addition to any arts or crafts project!
Our wide selection of shapes, sizes, and colors can be used in as many ways as you can imagine! They easily adhere to most surfaces with most types of glue. We prefer a clear drying glue because the Dew Drops are translucent.
Use these extremely versatile embellishments to create waterfalls, sunbeams, flowers, feathers, flames, rooftops, and more!
Our Inspiration
The Robin’s Nest started with just paper, beautiful thick cardstock. As scrapbooking evolved, we quickly realized that more dimensions needed to be added to the page to create that “wow” factor to make a pretty page. Robin was always on the lookout for things that inspired her. She made packets with tree branches and little rocks for outdoor pages and packets with fabric to make a three-dimensional picture…even adding flowers. Speaking of flowers, Robin also made 3-dimensional flowers with cardstock. These little discoveries lead to what The Robin’s Nest is today.
When Robin opened the craft store, she had to expand products to other companies. The home decor side of the business led her to many trade shows. While walking through one of these trade shows, she saw a vase of flowers filled with round rocks to hold the flowers. This inspired an idea…What if these were flat on one side so that we could put them on a scrapbook page? Viola! An idea transformed into Dew Drops!
Since the beginning of Dew Drops, there have been many copycats, but no one has been able to replicate the beauty of our little gems. At first we exported the Dew Drop manufacturing to China, but after a few years we realized that it was better to keep the entire process in the United States. We use an injection machine to melt acrylic, then inject it into our specially designed Dew Drop molds. They are then packaged and ready to send to arts and craft stores worldwide.
Designing a Dew Drop is much more complicated than it looks. First, sizes need to be accurate. Therefore, the size of the molds is very important. Second, the thickness of the Dew Drops needs to be a particular millimeter to keep the translucent color looking like a water droplet. We’ve refined and perfected our technique over the years to bring you The Robin’s Nest Dew Drops you know and love!
