Hello and welcome – Shelly with you today sharing a way to reach out to friends and loved ones while we are under this lock down and unable to be with the people we love!

While under quarantine, and all of the social distancing, I feel beckoned to participate in simple pleasures – like sending mail – REAL MAIL.  An encouraging card with a few handwritten lines inside is such a day-brightener!

Shelly’s Card “Recipe”

I am starting with my own personal “Card Recipe” for cutting my basic pieces:

  • Card base – Smooth White Cardstock cut to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 folded in half
  • Card Mat (for color cardstock or patterned paper) cut to 4 x 5-1/4
  • Smooth OR textured White Cardstock cut to 3-3/4 x 5 for embossing or just highlighting your embellishments

There are so many jumping off places with these measurements!

I chose “Spa Colors” soothing blues and greens….

and  used Original Dew Drops and Mini Dew Drops to accent my embossing!

Wood Veneer pieces from Color Cast Designs

Butterflies represent HOPE & RENEWAL – perfect accent (especially with Pearl Diamond Dew Drops!)

Wood Veneer Butterflies – Michael’s Store Brand

Wondering what you should write?  “We’ll get through this together”, “Miss Your Face”, You are LOVED!”

Send a card this week!!

Thanks for stopping by – have a creative week!!
