It often matters more that “What you give” than “How you give”… Be it even a simple “Thanks”, make it special with a handcrafted card
Hello dear crafters! Rumana here once again with a Vintage Thank-you card with wooden textured background, embellished with Dark Vanilla Dew Drops ….. Hope you enjoy the detail!!!
Here’s what I’ve used to make it!!!
- A 7″ x 10″ black card base, folded into half to make the entire card of 7″ x 5″ dimension
- Some extra white card-stocks for dying, die-cutting and layering
- A piece of 5″ x 8″ black card stock for creating textured background
- A piece of 5″ x 8″ craft brown card stock for creating the frame
- Altenew Open Peony Layering Die Set
- Altenew Bold Thanks Die Set
- Rectangular frame die set
- Wooden textured embossing folder
- Dark Vanilla Dew Drops
- Liquid adhesive
- A die cutting machine
- Scissors
- Alchohol colors
- Foam tape
Looking into the steps I’ve followed…
- I’ve started the process with piecing the papers for base in mentioned dimension.
- To create the textured background I embossed the black smaller piece of paper with Wooden textured embossing folder and glued it down right in the middle of the card base leaving equal space around it.
- I also cut the brown paper using the rectangular frame die and attached it around the embossed area using dimension tape.
- Then I’ve taken a piece of white card stock and run it through my die-cutting machine with all the pieces of Altenew Open Peony Layering Die Set.
- I’ve then randomly colored the petals with alcohol color drops of cyan, green and yellow; also the leaves with green and yellow.
- After they dried, I played with the leaves and flower for a while till I was happy with the placement and glued all them down.
- At this point I cut the frame and text of the Bold Thanks die set, took 3 cutouts for layering to add dimension.
- Then I’ve glued the sentiment on the top right of the card focal object.
- And finally I’ve embellished the card with Dark Vanilla Dew Drops in random placement.
The making was really a short and simple process but I’m in love with the outcome…… I hope you like it too!!! Happy Crafting!!!
With Love…
Rumana Amin.
