Hello friends! Aimee here with a fun canvas project.
I think I may be a bit obsessed with these canvases!
You’re gonna need a canvas and Dew Drops from The Robin’s Nest, along with some acrylic paint, a brush, clear gesso or hair spray, glue, some water and a paper towel.
This turned out so cute and it was so very easy to create.
First things first, seal your design with either hair spray or clear gesso. Let dry, then get started.
Paint the background with very watered down dark blue acrylic paint.
Dab with crumpled paper towel while it’s still wet. This gives you a very pretty cloudy looking background for your tree.
Next, choose three bright colors of paint.
Paint in some of the swirls with your bright colors. I used orange, magenta, and blue.
Now paint in the rest of your tree with green.
Look at this fabulous brightly colored tree!
If you’d like, go over the black lines and make them bold and at the forefront again. I only had to do some of the lines, I was pretty careful not to paint over them.
Now add some Dew Drops, matching the Dew Drop to the paint color.
Add your chosen word(s) across the trunk of the tree.
Supplies:
- Tree canvas
- Dew Drops
- Acrylic paints (I used Dylusions and Tim Holtz Distress paints)
- Glue (I used Bearly Art Glue)
- Paper towel, paint brush, water
- Clear gesso or hair spray
- Words of choice (I use a Tim Holtz Word Chip)
