Ahoy Crafters,
All parrots and robins are welcome to come aboard ship and learn how to enhance photo. It’s simple and so much fun to create sensational dimension with Dew Drops. By adding Dew Drops to the subjects clothes you make the photos pop. I accentuated the buttons on their clothes but you could also add Dew Drops to replace jewelry like necklaces or earrings. Arrrghh! We be off to meet the cutest little pirates you will ever see. I hope you enjoy my Pirate Family Layout!

Supplies:
Goldenberry Dew Drops

Metallic Gold Dew Drops

Directions:
1. Apply a 4″ wide strip of black patterned paper down the left side.
2. To add realistic detail, use a craft knife to carefully slice the photo along the edge of a hat and then insert the tip of a feather into the slit.  Matte the 8×10″ photo with gold mirror card and trim to leave a narrow border.
3.  Adhere the photo slightly off center to the right.  Apply adhesive in the center of the photo and not along the edges so that you can tuck other embellishments underneath the photo later.

4. Create an embellishment cluster for the lower left corner. Slide the bracket under the edge of the photo and add a feather.  Next, attach an eye patch across the lower edge of the photo and add a pirate hat to the upper right corner to look as though it is hanging on the edge.

5.  Color the chipboard pieces.  Use brown ink to paint the ship’s wheel and add shading with a black colored pencil.  Paint the chain with silver acrylic paint. Add shading with black and highlight with a white gel pen to create the appearance of dimension.  Apply gold ink directly to the chipboard word and set aside to dry.

6.  Adhere the chipboard to the layout with liquid adhesive.  Stamp a skull & bones pirate flag with black ink onto white card stock.  Carefully cut it out and adhere it to the lower right corner overlapping the photo.

7.  Embellish the layout with a compass and an anchor.  Next, carefully slide some gold coins under the edge of the photo and layer them among other embellishments.

8. Adhere gold Dew Drops directly onto the photo to replace buttons on the subjects costume.  (Mom has 4 on her dress & 1 on her hat. Whereas, Dad has them on his cuffs.)  Lastly, adhere a small scattering of gold Dew Drops like confetti along the edges.
