Hey Ladies,
Dew Drops are the perfect finishing touch for ANY layout. Yes, really ANY layout! I wanted to capture the adventurous spirit of my nephew and I loved the photos that his mother captured of him contemplating how to proceed climbing this tree. A random scattering of confetti like Dew Drops were just what it needed. So ladies, even more masculine projects can be embellished with Dew Drops, they are not just for us girls.
Come on an adventure with me!
Directions:
1. Trim 1/4 inch from 2 sides of 12×12″ background paper. Attach it to the middle of a 12×12″ allowing for a narrow edge. I selected a patterned edge matting and a solid center paper.
2. Add a chipboard frame around the feature photo. Then begin to arrange your photos with some matting layers in contrasting colors. Do not yet attach anything to the background just practice the placement.
3. Die cut some harlequin patterns on black card stock and add them underneath the corners of the photos allowing them to be partially visible. Embellish the left corner of the framed photo with a cluster.
4. Add a large title near the top edge of the layout. Photograph the layout and remove all the items from the layout.
(TIP: Because I never glue anything to the background paper until I am completely finished designing the page, I will photograph a layout when I have to move elements to get access to the background paper. Then I use the photo as a guide to help me re-construct the layout. I can now confidently attach the items with perfect placement. This step will help you avoid the frustration and prevents the disappointment of not being able to remember exactly how the layout was arranged.)
5. Select various stamps to compliment your photo. I added three prominent quotes that needed to be visible. Next, I planned where to add a few patterns to the background. Those images could be partially behind photos as these embellishments would be of secondary importance. This is just a way to add another layer and create more depth by adding some subtle designs within the background. I stamped the most important images with black ink and the secondary images with blue ink to give a watermark effect on the purple paper. (TIP: if you are uncertain about where to place the stamped images, I suggest first stamping the images on scrap paper and loosely cutting them out to practice with placement. I also made sure to test the ink on the background paper in a place that would be underneath the photos.)
6. Add a confetti like scattering of Black Dew Drops & Obsidian Diamond Dew Drops to the layout.
