Hi, It’s Karen and I’m here to show how easy it is to create a cute birthday cake canvas.  Creative Canvas gives you the perfect jumping off point if you are like me and lack the talent to draw.  You can easily turn your Creative Canvas into a card, scrapbooking embellishment, or framed home decor.  If you like extra sparkle, apply glitter glue to the Dew Drops to add the “Wow” factor.

Don’t forget to share your canvas art with us over on The Crafty Nest Facebook page HERE.

Supplies:
Hyacinth Dew Drops & Orange Tear Drops
Birthday Cake Canvas

Directions: 1. Apply wax paint to the canvas and use a waterbrush to blend the paint.

2. Apply white texture paint to create the faux frosting.
Next, press the pink Dew Drops into the wet texture paint.

3.  Apply yellow wax paint to create a golden glow behind the candles.
Reduce the intensity of the color by blending outward away from the candles.

4.  To create the appearance of a waxy candle, apply the paint in two distinct steps to create this texture.  Apply enamel paint at a diagonal with a space in between each row.  When the paint has dried, apply the missing layer of paint. The paint will dry with noticeable ridges looking like wax.

5. Adhere orange Tear Drops to create the flames.
Lastly, apply glitter glue to the flames and set aside to dry.

Other Supplies: paint brush, white pearl texture paste,
Nuvo enamel paint, Distress wax crayons, glitter glue
